Some countries have been on lockdown for months. For
an extrovert to sit in a place for months can feel like prison. Even an
introvert who is used to being indoors, isn’t finding it funny anymore
(speaking for myself). It is easier to decide to stay in when you know you can
step out whenever you want but to be forced to, that takes your freewill away
and you become a prisoner in a space you used to enjoy being in by yourself.
Emotions are high everywhere. It’s not just from the
fear of getting the virus or losing a loved one, it’s the uncertainty that
hangs in the air. It is so thick it could be sliced with a knife. What will
happen to our jobs and businesses? Financial markets around the world are being
affected as well. Some look at the money in their accounts and wonder what
value it would have at the end of the pandemic. Is this the end of the world? A
lot of conspiracy theories are flying around, fueling the fear in the hearts of
people. Is this the end of life as we know it? Some ponder if they’ll ever do
and achieve the things they’ve always wanted to. Some don’t know if tomorrow
will come.
Everyone is looking for a way to deal with the fear,
the uncertainty, death and everything else in the air. Some have turned to
social media for solace; either by contributing so they can get the attention
they need to hang in there or by becoming watchers, viewing and reading all
with their gadgets permanently glued to their eyes.
Some have found solace in food, it fills a hole, a
need .
Some have turned to anything that can make them feel
something, connected to someone, wanted or needed, feel something even if it’s tears,
rejection or hurt from someone they like.
Some are angry and they are looking for anyone to
pour it on, they have become mega trolls and angry birds, online and offline.
Some just want peace of mind and to be left alone
from any troubles.
Some have turned to religion, in a search for
something, for hope, for more.
Some, empaths as they scroll through their contact
lists, connect to family, friends and acquaintances, telling everyone that they are
not alone.
Some are feeding others, making supplies, it gives them control, a feeling of contribution.
Some are learning new things, be it good or bad.
So many just
want to feel something, get their minds off it.
Some have refused to accept anything is wrong,
living in denial.
Some want to connect with another emotionally or on
some level since corona has taken physical connection away etc.
Some do not know where their next meal will come
from.
Some have become wasps in the lives of others,
almost becoming a nuisance with the never ending messages, every blessed day.
This period has got some doing things they never
thought they would do, saying things they never thought they would say and
thinking things they never thought they would think. It has changed some for
the better, some for the worse.
We all have been bitten by the corona bug and have been
afflicted with its virus one way or the other.
Me, I was a wasp in some people’s lives, stopped now
before they squash me like a bug for my messages. Lol!
Where do you fall in? Hope you are staying safe and
following the guidelines?
I leave you with these words from the Bible.
“DO NOT LET YOUR HEARTS BE TROUBLED AND DO NOT BE
AFRAID”
-JOHN 14: 21 -
These are crazy times for sure. Hope our coping mechanisms, as you listed, don't fail us. Thanks for sharing, Frankie!
