Growing up, I could never understand when I saw in
the movies, TV shows, magazines etc., people saying that they don’t love
someone anymore. That thing just never made sense at that young age. How could
you love someone today and not love them tomorrow?
I had seen 1Corinthians 13: 4-8. Even the Bible
agreed with me that love never dies.
We are made in God’s image and if we have his
attributes and God can love us despite our not being deserving of it, how can
you say “This is the person I love.” Then you hurt them and tell them “I love
someone else.”
Now, I understand why. Love never dies. It is people’s
perception of love that dies. Some people say “I love you” without knowing what
the word ‘Love’ means. Some say it because it is expected. It is what people in
a relationship are meant to say. Others say it so they can get what they want
from you.
When love dies for most, it is not the love for you
that dies. The truth is they were never in love with ‘YOU’ in the first place.
So, stop crying, wondering what is wrong with you and why they don’t love you
anymore.
It is their idea of love that died. The thought that
they were in love with you died. The thing that they thought they loved about you died not you.
The idea of love for you because now they realized they never really loved you,
the person made up of body, soul, spirit, your mind and everything that makes
you special. They never loved ‘You’ but were in love with something about you.
It could be your body, the sex, money, the intelligence, being seen with you,
etc.
Most times when people tell me, I love so and so and
I ask why, I’ve never really gotten deep answers. You hear things like “ ... is
kind, nice, beautiful, smart, treats me well, makes sure I…” it’s never really about the person
they are in love with but an outside perception and what they get from being
with the person.
Remember, we humans are naturally selfish, so most
go looking out for themselves. I’m not saying, you shouldn’t love you, you
should always love number one but in loving number one you understand what love
really means and you’ll be able to love another. The world today has turned the
word “Love” upside down. It is used freely and has lost meaning.
I think I’m deviating. Truth is when you love and
you mean it, you know what love means, understand what the Bible says it is,
when you love truly, the person could be undeserving of that love but you still
love them, even if you walk away because you deserve better and couldn’t love
you right. Years later, you still do love them, even though you’ve moved on . I’m
not talking about sex and lust here. Love never dies.
If you begin to learn people’s definition of love
and why they love someone, you would be wary when people say “I love you”. Some
think love is on the surface; go to the movies, kiss, hold hands, have sex, be
taken care of, have fun etc.
If someone tells you their love for you died, be
relieved, smile and dry those tears. They were never in love with 'YOU'. Their purpose
for loving you is dead and over so it is time for them to go. They now
realize that they never loved you. Now, you have the opportunity with them gone
to meet someone who will love you truly, deeply and right. Love itself, never
dies, people's reasons do.

Nice one Flo.
ReplyDeleteIt's really needless crying when people say they love you no more, rather be happy because you just got more closer to finding that person who really actually sure loves the real you.
